It all started with Popple. He used to sneak into the mushroom kingdom and he would steal coins and mushrooms and stuff. Then the king spotted him. So he made off with the loot, and the king made these blocks to encase the wonderful treasures. But he still got a piece of the pie. The rest is entirely another story, exept the question marks. They got there to confuse him, so he didn't know what was in them.

I've heard that Luigi was always some guy on the streets, but accidentaly split into two, both babies. One became Mario's Brother, the other became a terrifying villian who got lots of Magic and changed his name to Elvin Gadd. In Luigi's Mansion, E. Gadd pretends to be a good guy, but realy put all the normal ghosts in there. The portrait ghosts already lived there. After Luigi beat King boo, E. Gadd lost a lot of power because King Boo's Crown was its protector. Soon, he could no longer shapeshift and reverted to his true from. In Mario's Time Machine, before Bowser opens his museum, some guy that looks like Luigi in gangster clothes fall in the Time Machine. Then two babie Luigi's come out. In Mario is Missing, E. Gadd(now known as Dark Luigi) was the one who realy trapped Mario, the Koopas were just nearby and decided to take him captive. After the events of the game, Luigi faced off with Dark Luigi, it was an epic battle, too. At the end, Luigi threw Dark Luigi over a bridge into ice. Now nobody knows where Dark Luigi is, but one things for certain- he's still alive...
